What We Look For
In general, the criteria for project selection will centre on the opportunity to break a bottleneck, surface a new issue or reframe an old one, take advantage of a current or coming tipping point, or expand a proven solution in concert with others.
Threshold Criteria
These are criteria that must be met for the project to be considered by the NTR Foundation Advisory Board.
- Mission aligned to the NTR Foundation i.e. organisations, programmes or projects must fit within the three thematic areas of climate change, security of energy supply and resource sustainability.
- Organisations, programmes or projects that approach these themes in a positive/solutions-oriented manner.
- Organisations, programmes or projects that can demonstrate a positive societal and environmental impact within the grant period.
Substantive Criteria
These are criteria against which the merits of the project will be assessed by the NTR Foundation Advisory Board.
- Organisations/programmes or projects with a clear vision that brings about change.
- Organisations/programmes or projects that present a service or advocacy opportunity.
- Programmes or projects that match NTR Group Businesses’ fields of work.
- Programmes/projects that facilitate both financial and non-financial support e.g. those where grant funding will be used to support both core (organisational capacity) and project funding requirements.
- Organisations must be well-led with ambition and should ideally be able to demonstrate a proven track-record of success.
- Geographies and levels (Government, regional, local, community) will be for the NTR Group Business to determine.
